“You can do your job wherever and whenever you want…you can even sit on a beach or at a cafe with a coffee in hand for all I care…as long as you get our desired results.”
That’s been the opening line of our CEO to all new employees ever since the company was founded.
The perceived benefits of working remotely has enabled him to hire good talent with no local geographic limits. It’s contributed to a highly engaged workforce with a company culture that has become the need of an hour.
The spread of remote working is opening up a new range of possibilities for the way companies can work and structure themselves.
Along with opportunities and benefits, remote working is bringing new responsibilities for the employer and employee.
The grass is always greener on the other side.
When you’re at work, nothing sounds more comforting than a pleasant day indoors in your favorite corner. When you’re at home, you remember about making jokes and debating the merits of cryptocurrency with your co-workers.
The benefits of work from home or remotely have far outweighed the hassles.
If you are working from home it could be difficult to separate work from your personal life at the start. But take it day by day, schedule your work beforehand, and remember that personal time is equally important.
Working remotely in a really remote location (obviously with good connectivity) every once in a while like in a park or on a beach will help you connect with nature. It will help reduce stress and make you feel less trapped in the digital world.
One of the major advantages for our fellow colleague is relief from stuffing into a local train, having people scuff new shoes, or walking behind annoyingly slow people who apparently don’t have to reach office.
And the obvious advantages of working remotely are:
Flexible schedule: You can start whenever you want (unless you have client call scheduled), take a break at any moment and eat lunch at any time you want.
Custom environment: Setup your work desk at any corner you like and adjust the noise level just the way you want it anywhere between insanely quiet to deafening loud.
Comfy clothes: Those who hate formals can wear sweatpants or leggings and work. You can even wear a suit with shorts if you have a video client call and they would not know.
No office distractions: You can avoid colleagues debating over world issues. They could be interesting but not when you are loaded with work. No more freezing as the AC kicks in.
More time with family: You can be ready for your kids a little early, take care of elderly/sick at home, or get some more snuggle time with your pet.
To sum it up, we at Diginnovators work remotely and we truly believe now is the time for remote work to become the norm. We see so many qualified people come to us looking for work and we are glad to be one of the companies that have embraced it and are leading the way in attracting the best talent.
