Job Summary:

The Senior Python Developer will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing backend systems for a client-facing transaction portal. This position offers hands-on experience in Python backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, and Django REST, with exposure to asynchronous processing, message queues, and high-volume transaction handling. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about clean coding, scalable backend architecture, secure development, and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django REST).
• Transaction & Concurrency Handling: Implement reliable, idempotent transaction flows and manage asynchronous processes using queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Production Support & Incident Management: Own, triage, and resolve production incidents with urgency and within SLA.
• Codebase Ownership: Quickly onboard into complex backend systems and independently deliver fixes and enhancements.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop automated tests and monitor system health to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Performance & Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in system performance, scalability, and security.
• Secure Development Practices: Follow Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) with proper documentation and remediate vulnerabilities from scans or audits.
• Monitoring & Debugging: Use tools like Kibana and Grafana to monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend (Angular), QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable end-to-end solutions.
• On-call Support & RCA: Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to post-incident Root Cause Analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise: Strong experience in Python backend development, including FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST frameworks.
• Database Knowledge: Expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL, including design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Transaction & Async Processing: Experience handling transactional systems, concurrency, idempotency, and asynchronous processing with queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Testing & Monitoring: Proficiency in automated testing and monitoring tools (Kibana/Grafana).
• Security & SSDLC: Familiarity with secure coding practices, vulnerability remediation, and SSDLC adherence.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in production-critical systems.
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical solutions clearly.
